I think it's important to have the correct hook size for the size bead you're using for 2 reasons: To ensure you don't spook the fish with a massive hook and small bead To ensure the hook is not too small so the fish swallows the hook too deep, and will likely increase the mortality of the fish Lastly, hook size is not only based on the bead size but also the size of the target species
The only time these lures lose a bit of their potency is when the water is very cold, not so much because they pike wont hit them, but because theyll be less willing to chase them
The automatic drag takes some of the human error out of the system, potentially decreasing the ratio of fish lost during the fight
Although it may seem overwhelming to have so many choices, if you master these basics lures with bass, you'll do just fine.
