Once its over the rail, if possible, grab the striper by the lower lip, put your rod in a nearby rod holder (not on the deck where other crew members can step on it), and remove the hook as gently as possible

Gary Yamamoto worms and Senkos are awesome at Tuckertown in summer. When largemouths go out into 20 or 25 feet of water, deep-diving crankbaits that bounce off stumps and rocks or black and purple Carolina-rigged worms or lizards with 1-ounce barrel weights can be effective
Because of their design, the only resistance working against the lure during a cast is the weight of the fishing line (not much) and a little bit of friction as the line moves through the rod guides (again, not much)
