Both models of reel are fully machined, and the Battenkill Click features a standard arbor with a ported design that pays homage to Battenkill reels of old. The circular porting on the spool helps dry the line and the backing while keeping weight to a minimum. The team worked to tighten tolerances for even smoother operation and updated design features, including improved hand feel, a curved reelfoot that won't kink leaders when you store your rod fully rigged. Its open-cage design doesn't feature an adjustment knob on the outside, giving the reel a clean, uncluttered look. An exposed palming rim on the spool lets you apply additional pressure by hand when a fish makes a strong run. The spool is easy to remove, there is a spool release latch at the centre of the spool, making line changes and maintenance quick and simple. Switching from left- to right-hand retrieve is simple, so the reel works for any angler right out of the box. Available in three sizes, the Battenkill Click I is 2.8" in diameter for 1-3wt rods, the Click II is 3" for 3-5wt rods, and the Click III is 3.25" for 5-7wt rods

Mono grips into the arbor (the center of the spool) much better than braid does and pretty much guarantees you wont have issues with the line free spinning when you get a fish on
