The inside of the RS Plate has an excellent anti-corrosion coating on it but I still gave it a little swish of grease: The Bearing gets put back in with some grease in it's housing to keep salt out and then some oil: From the other side: When its time to replace the Cast Control Cap (4444) really, the spool centering knob, I always put a touch of grease in the threads to prevent it seizing and in conjunction with the black O Ring (3076) to protect the pinion Bearing from salt: Getting ready to close up we have a nice light coat of marine grease on all parts: And this gives us a chance to talk about the "Micro Tooth Gear" that Shimano uses in the Tranx and Trinidad/Torium (IIRC)
