After forming the piece in a gas kiln, it was further fired in a wood kiln in pursuit of deeper kiln effects, resulting in a richly layered surface. The glossy yellow body is beautifully accented by red tanpan markings emerging within the grass motifs, while soft purple tones appear along the dry, weathered rim. Subtle hints of red also surface
