Description

a style I rarely adopt

The mitochondrial DNA which is found within the hair shaft is passed down specifically to a child from their mother or pregnant parent

This world was eternal and regenerative

Red hair is painstakingly woven into minutely fine stands of silk

It came about during a period in which I walked the South Downs over 11 days

Under the Door-sills of the Equator hypha-gallery-farringdon a style I rarely adoptThis painting is inspired by my sea swimming, nature, AI, climate change, psychology and folk tales and seeks to capture a sense of the strangeness of the world right now. My interest in folk tales and other stories draws on their existential and creationist narratives to seek connections through deep time until the present. the title of this work was inspired by Rudyard Kipling Just So story 'How the Whale Got His Throat'.
