Red Pitch Bench Lamps A master alloy casting grainThis red pitch provides firm support for chasing, yet is soft enough to allow embossing of a shallow relief using repouss. It is is less toxic than black pitch and delivers better results. Place the red pitch in a pitch bowl and slowly heat in a a 250300F oven; the melt temperature is low enough that you can safely manipulate and shape the pitch by hand after heating.
