Necklace with Hand-Painted Gumnut Beads By the Women of Camel Camp Keith Rowe Traditional artist's hand-pulled printThis necklace features hand painted gumnuts by the Aboriginal Women of Camel Camp from the Utopia region of Australia. These gumnuts have been painted black with yellow, orange and peach patterns. When we collected these unique beads, they still smelt of the smokey fire the women sat around as they painted these gumnuts. Australian jeweller, Christine Smalley created this neck piece by adding glass, wood and ceramic beads to accompany the gumnut beads
