They will clamp on to just about anything that moves, launching themselves at their target with their feeble, stumpy legs. Once the mouth is opened, the Nipnog can no longer see his target and usually misses. Their teeth are nubby pegs and don't really puncture skin but their jaws can lock on once they get a decent hold. No one is really sure how a creature so useless and ridiculous evolved
