When Eerie Publications hit the scene in the mid 60s, they hit upon an interesting idea for writing their Horror Storiesthey just wouldnt do it. Why pay writers, they thought, when there were so many great horror comics already out there. So Eerie took stories, already in print, mostly from the early 1950s and gave them to artists to redraw in a modern vein, generally more graphic, more gory. This was not legal, this was piracy.
