This charming sampler of a cat with flowers and butterflies was stitched by S H in 1838. It is one of a pair of samplers stitched by the same child. The other sampler is of a rabbit and is also available as a chart to stitch. Both samplers were kindly donated to the Museum by a lady from Sleights, a village near Whitby , North Yorkshire.
