Highlighting voids and adding awareness to things which might otherwise be overlooked. The seeming addition of parts of an image, a wing, a body, a spectre is actually a removal of part. I think about loss and memory a lot with the darkroom techniques I use to create these effects. The imperfect traces left behind by dodging and burning while printing become part of the work. My work
