I cut large hexagons and fired them together to create desired thickness as well as color and depth

Bird of Paradise in the Moonlight Sculpture Abstract the glass is firepolishedThis Bird of Paradise shines in the "moonlight". Artistic Process: Aventurine blue glass was cut into the shape of a bird of paradise, then laid on a base glass. glass was ground fine and laid to form the flower. After the first firing in the kiln, shading and fine tuniing of the design with ground glass of different shades was used. A final firing n the kiln to finish and fire polish.
