2008 Scrio Le Macchiole The Sandrone family lost 25%Scrio was born in 1994 from Eugenio Campolmi's desire to produce a wine that best expressed his vision of Syrah, his favorite grape variety. Like all Le Macchiole wines, Scrio has a personality all its own and is one of the few Syrah wines produced in Bolgheri that is different from the French Syrahs. Its production is limited to 5,000 bottles. "Scrio" is a Tuscan word that can best be translated as pure, sincere and honest.
